About

agata kyciaAgata is a Berlin based architect and researcher fascinated by the potential intersections of computational design, digital fabrication and material science. After graduating from the Warsaw School of Architecture in 2006 (BA), IaaC Barcelona in 2008 (MA) and TU Delft in 2010 (Msc. Arch, hyperBODY), she worked for several years as lead design architect at HENN Berlin. As part of the HENN design team, she participated in several research programs such as DRX_Design Research Exchange in 2012 and Programming.

She taught parametric design and lectured at various universities, such as TU Delft, Architectural Assosiation VS Beijing, Warsaw School of Architecture, Fachhochschule Düsseldorf, Fab Lab Berlin, TU Berlin CHORA: Conscious City, IaaC Barcelona and IED Madrid. Since 2016 she has taught digital design tools and advanced fabrication at the Weißensee Art Academy Berlin, department Textile- and Surface Design. She obtained her doctoral degree (Dr.-Ing.) from the TU Berlin (Faculty of Architecture), where she investigated material-informed design strategies through 3D printing on textiles, as part of the practice based PhD program- PEP.

Currently, she researches hybrid teaching formats through experimental prototyping and robotics as part of the collaborative research project “Bauhaus 4.0” between the Weißensee Art Academy Berlin, (departments Product Design, Textile-and Surface Design and Foundations) and TU Berlin (Humanities and Educational Sciences, Institute of Education).

Agata provides computational design consultancy for architects, designers, and artists during various phases of the design process. If you’re interested in collaborating, please get in touch through this contact formular.
